Can being low on manual transmission fluid mimic a slipping clutch?
Hi!
Sorry for the probably dumb question.
Can being low on manual transmission fluid mimic a slipping clutch?
The clutch is shuddering on engagement.
The gears are shifting like normal
But I didn't know if low transmission fluid alone can cause this.
I don't think so, but I thought I'd check.
I think it's clutch time.
Thanks for the input.
Update
5/24/2012 the clutch was worn out and it wasn't low on fluid.
Sorry for the probably dumb question.

No it will not do this. This happens if the clutch is glazed are just plain done..If your tranny is low on fluid make sure it full and I sometimes like to really fill it till it really starts to pour out then you know it's till the max..If your tranny is low you could possibly mess the gears up make sure it's filled up.
