I'm not convinced either pump is good to run in a high HP Evo. Until I see more successful testing, I'm staying with the tried and true Double Pumper.

My buddy also had the same situation with his Evo 10 where the DW pump running leaner than a Walbro on the same tune. Brand new fuel pump housing. Would have been good to spend more time trying to figure out the issue, but he's moved onto a new double pumper setup.
Same here, four pumps, four different cars, four with the same issue.

DW came defective...wasnt a very good pump and wont get a good review from me.

Even with the added fuel pressure, the Aeromotive 340lph fuel pump can't keep up similar to an un-modified walbro 255lph HP unit. Personally I was hoping that it would be able to sustain and hold good AFR's on E85 up to 525whp or 550whp on our Dynojet dyno. Next we will be testing the walbro fuel pumps when they are available this summer. Here are the final numbers for the car with a safe AFR at redline. This was at 25 to 26 psi again at peak torque and 29psi at redline.

i've been on a dw300 for 2 weeks and have put almost 2000 miles on it since install and have had no problems with it. even went on a road trip from phx to la and back in this heat on e85.
i'll be seeing what it can handle when i put a hta green on in a few weeks.

I will post as soon as I get some runs in next week. with the DW pump. I am at the edge of the walbro 255 hp with e85 (leans out when engine speed picks up, as well as later in the pull when lbs/min keeps climbing).
Wednesday of next week will be the day for me. I should have it installed by friday night and can show two compareable logs with the same tune on them if you would like as well.
I asked Jayracing if his pump would overrun the stock fpr on an evo 8 and he said that I could definately have that problem at idle, which is one reason I wanted to try the DW pump

We've seen a few issues with the DW pumps in house and all of the issues were either due to installation error or lack of a rewire. We adamantly believe that every application utilizing the DW300 fuel pump needs a rewire, before you toss this pump aside I strongly recommend giving it a shot.

I think the suggestion is to re-wire the pump regardless of HP. The power that is being referred to in this thread, is the amount of Amperage that the pump uses ans how much more energy it requires over a stock pump or Walboro even.

that is my worry also, and a few of the thoughts making it difficult to pick a pump.

Thats what you have to remember when doing the hardwire, that you'll probably need an afpr if youre running bigger than a wally 255, unless you can tune around it, but thats not the "right" way to go about it.
The other option would be to use a double pumper setup, and have the second pump come on a "x"psi so you're only running one pump at idle/cruise. But I don't think this is the place for that discussion
I'm running 32lbs on my FP Green HTA, 1350cc injectors, stock fuel lines, stock base pressure, etc. I am running out of pump with my setup on my wally 255hp, and I should have the DW here tomorrow. Im going to see how it does without a rewire and go form there.

My update:
Replaced my Walbro 255hp with the DW301 pump. Went lean in the same spots (spoolup with high load, then evens out as boost drops, then goes lean again when the lbs/min keeps climbing). This is how it was meant to be...dropped in, no rewire.
This was on my evo 8, HTA green, Comp 280's.
Log shows 32psi, 53lbs/min, 19 degrees of timing. This is all on E85 of course.
I want to rewire it today, but I want to know if I'm going to have to buy a fpr or not in order to run this pump? If that's the case, theres really no reason to not jump from a walbro to a double pumper and run the stock fpr.

Alright, I just re-wired my pump, and that made a hell of a difference. I kept the same tune, TOOK OUT 10% of fuel, had to mess wth the deadtimes of the injectors a little bit (pretty sure Im getting fpr overrun), but instead of it dipping down sometimes into the 11.5-ish afr's its not pegged at 10:1 afr.
