Streetthis, the build looks solid bro, good luck with reaching your goals. Any reason why you went with the aluminum rods over steel rods?

Good luck on the build man. Are you still going to be running the stock regulator?

I'll see if I have any of the car itself. I'm sure I do somewhere.

Yes I will run the stock regulator.

The aluminum rods are lighter and IMO hold up just the same as any steel rod.

for anyone else this would seem like a hard goal to accomplish.. but given your background history on the track and a good tuner backing you.. i think you'll get the job done.. good luck man. 8 seconds is beyond a whole nother level.

that manifold does look super nice. i know whos FF kit to go with if i ever decide on one.

Well today we got the pistons and rods back in the block with a fresh set of rings and torqued down the head. After the head was on we couldn't resist test fitting the exhaust manifold and turbo. Yes I know the turbo isn't facing the correct direction yet. We still need to clock it to the correct position.

Tomorow I plan to clean and bleed the lifters, and other parts in the head as well as install anything else I can do. I am waiting on my FP5R's to come back from FP before I can finish putting the head together and timing the car.

The oil pan is also getting modified/baffled by Buschur before it goes back on. More pics to come as parts come in and parts go back onto the car.

Enjoy!!

What other methods of weight reduction are you going to be doing since your keeping the full interior? Street trim would be one hell of a accomplishment for a 8sec pass.

I love seeing a good ole fashioned car assembled at home that rips 9's. There's no luck to going fast all skills, looks like you got something right!

I have your basic weight reduction mods done (crash bars, spare, jack, etc..). My rear rotors are SUPER light and only weigh 5.x lbs each. My Front rotors are 13.x lbs each. Those two items alone save a TON of rotating mass. The AWD motorsports driveshaft will save another 12-13 lbs of rotating mass. My current street tire combo (18" RFP1's & 245/45/18 Mickey Thompson Drag Radials) weigh 42 lbs each. My slick combo (OEM VIII rims & 26/7/17 Mickey Thompson Slicks) weigh just about 29 lbs each. The Apexi N1's are super light compaired to OEM. I run a Seibon carbon fiber trunk lid. I have also removed the A/C as I never use it and IMO makes for a cleaner engine bay. It all adds up. There are some other things done here and there to save some weight but it is no secret or something special I'm just doing. I have a good list of parts to buy that should save another 50 lbs and keep the car looking the way it does.

I want to keep all OEM seats, carpet, stereo, full exhaust, etc..on the car when it goes 8's. I will not cut the inside of the car up to save weight. I love the way the IX interior looks.

Simply just enjoy the car. I doubt there will be any goals to go faster as it really isn't possibly w/o tearing the car up to save weight. I love driving it around and don't get it to do it as much as I'd like with my constant out of town work schedule.
