If you want faster than those, get a Ti turbo off a Evo 6 or 7, super fast spooling.
And then put a 9.0cm housing from an evo4 onto it.

the early 8 turbos came with a 9.8 hotside. i believe the MR 8's had the 10.5 hotside.

the 9 turbo has a bigger compressor housing and the same 10.5 hotside.

Why would you want that kind of power at 2000 rpms? Anything making power at that low of rpm is going to be heavily restricted up top which is where the motor is designed to breathe most effectively. I can't think of a single type of driving that would require the sacrifice in top end breathing you would need to spool something significantly faster than the stock turbo. The stock turbo also has the advantage of being free.

It's for a SUV, SUV's need low end power if they plan to tow or off-road.

here they are side by side
03-04 had the 9.8, 05 had the 10.5, IX's have the 10.5 along with the bigger compressor housing. Whether it was an MR or not wouldn't matter. All USDM models got the same turbo as the other models in their own year. ie, ALL 03's got 9.8, ALL "06 IX's got 10.5 w/ larger compressor, etc

i would but.. a evo 8 turbo will hit 350whp which is the op's goal. evo 9 turbo is great if you dont want to pass 400whp ever. although can hit 450~ on maxed out setup on race fuel.

you can ignore most of the posts in here. none of these people have knowledge how fast the smaller tdo4 turbo can spool on a 4g63. I am guessing you have the 13g/tdo4 which would hit full spool just above 2000 rpm.

the best advice came from RSMIKE. and I second the advice. the TME turbo that uses the titanium exhaust wheel and magnesium compressor wheel or the TME with 15g compressor is going to be your best advice. that turbo with a 9cm exhaust housing will be far faster spooling that anything mentioned in here. it should hit full spool at 2500-2800 rpm. fully capable of your 350 FLYWHEEL target

Hello,

I built an Outlander turbo near to you in Hungary ! Now an Evo 9 TME turbo work on the engine. The spool up and the low rpm ( <3000rpm ) power is better than with the little stock td04 turbo because the twinscroll exhaust manifold ! The Outlander turbo is not much heavier than a US Evo 8 ! I would go with the HKS on the 2.0 liter.
What Ecu, intercooler, intake manifold, injectors do you have ?

i want to stay on the budged side with the outlander so was thinking of a used fp white used with oem ecu with only downpipe and turbo elbow and stock catback for low noise !
FMIC of a evo would be also nice

And a MAP ported exhaust manifold got one on my evo and its really good

but i havent thougt about that tme turbo does anybody has a code or serial number for me after what i have to look out for ?

Besides the TME turbo from the Evo VI series, there is the JDM VIII RS turbo which also has a Titanium/Aluminide exhaust wheel. This turbo comes fitted with the faster spooling 9.8 turbine housing, unlike the TME turbo which uses the slower spooling 10.5 housing.

In my experience, this turbo is relatively quick spooling. I used to see 20 PSI by 2700 RPM even with HKS 280 cams. It spooled even quicker than my Old School FP Green which was fitted with a 9.0cm turbine housing.

An FP White with a 9.8 housing might be pretty quick spooling as well I'd imagine.

How can you write the stock Ecu ?? Did you try it ? With Open port 2.0 cable ? Or just logging with evoscan ? The stock Ecu with Ecuflash can not write yet.. Our stock Ecu was tuned by Ecutek. Now the Outy is runing on Evo 8 ecu, Evo 8 TB, IM and speed density.
