Separating Tranny & Engine

I got the motor, tranny, and transfer case out of the car. I need to send the block out to get built, but I'm having trouble Separating the transmission from the motor.

Does anybody have any tips on doing this?

You need to remove the shaft that connects the axle to the center diff. Numbers 26-28 in following link.

why do you need to mess with the TC? remove the bolts on the housing then release the TOB on the clutch and it should separate...?
