intercooler core

Why is only some strips welded on this garret core... more that one looks like this?

Good question. I've never seen the charge rows welded like that, and then everyother one. Wierd. Maybe it was a bad core that leaked?

It's not a "bad core". When they have suspect areas or areas that do leak, they weld them up. not a big deal as long as it's leak free when the tanks are welded on. I'm sure many, many of the upgraded cores that are out there have this.
