4G63 Block with 4G64 Crank Question?
Guys, as you can see I am new here and honestly I do not know how to use the "search" option very good.
I have a 2006 Evolution IX CT9A.
Can I use the 4G63 block with the 4G64 crank (100mm type)?
Do I have to buy new rods or the ones that I have work?
It is true that I have to buy special pistons?
Do you know PROs and CONs of doing this?
Or can you refer me to any thread?
Thank you guys...
Rodolfo

Try searching. That combo would make a 2.3L stroker. You typically need different pistons (at least with DSM's) because of the wrist pin height difference (like 6mm AFAIK) But can use the same rods. i would assume Evo's are very similar. If you are building for big power anyways though, it wouldn't be a bad time to swap some stronger rods in though!

Yes I found some more information... But I am getting scared of doing 2.3... They said it does work very good high revs... I am not a race driver but I really like to go fast, so I do not know if that is going to be an issue... Anyways I do not rev a lot the car...
For the record my car has the ARP Head studs, Cometic Gasket (dont remember the thickness), AMS balance remover or whatever the name is, ferrera valves and guides, Brian Crower cams, DTA (stand alone), 750cc inyectors, and a TD05 20G and good par of ***** for the driver hahahahaha...
I am thinking that is kind a mess to change the normal configuration of the car...

By the way do you know or have any info of the Tomei Turbo for the Evo... The one that is bolt on... I like that idea rather to change the 2.3L... I just think that I cannot afford to damage one more time the engine...
