Is there anyway to duplicate the Revolver Grind?

Is there anyway that the now extinct Revolver Cam grind for Evo VIII's can be duplicated or reproduced? Maybe this is a dumb question but I just wonder?

So, Mike, I guess that I would first need to find a set of original Revolvers and then take them to a shop that grinds cams to order.

I wonder if the Revolver profile was a regrind of the stock factory cams, or whether blank billets would be needed to duplicate the profile?

You wouldn't need the cams, just the spec card on them. I'm guessing blank billets would be needed as the factory cams are pretty small.

They still pop up every once in a while. That's how I got mine, waited until a set was for sale on the forum and did what I needed to do get them. Only negative is that the intake cam was off a lot and bent my new valves on cyl. 4 even further halting my 3+ years without it running.

The problem for me with buying used bumpsticks is the issue of cam lobe surface wear.

If you can them for a reasonable price, I say go for it. I got them as they would be great for my 2.3L and IX turbo (old Green in the shop for later) but I don't plan on using them forever. I have a S2 intake cam to mix it up later on as well.

The original Revolver cams were not w/o issues. There were several cases of extreme variances in production quality control. Some buyers couldn't get the things to run right as produced, or achieve the advertised power numbers. I don't much like buying used cams myself.

you could get him to take the cams to a cam cutting/manufacture shop and get them to writeup a spec card for them. They should have scanning tools/tech there

What made the Revolver cams unique and highly sought after?

The great low-mid torque they produce. They sound nice as well which is a bonus to some.

Holy crap man, was the used set I had sold to you?

I FINALLY pieced together my engine with the 2nd set of Revolvers I had and now I'm EXTREMELY worried about starting this thing up....?!?!?!?

And Sparky, the Revolovers are not regrinds off the stock cams. They look completely different when side by side.

Specs:
Revolver 262/264
Advertised Duration - 262 deg Int / 264 deg Exh
Effective Duration - 222 deg @ 1mm Int / 223 deg @ 1mm Exh
Lift - 11.4mm Int / 11.5mm Exh
Lobe Centerlines - 109 deg Int / 111 deg Exh
LSA - 110 deg
