272 kelford cams degree!??
so i just brought my evo8 over to rdtech for my kelfords 272 install and just wondering if i need to run cam sprockets(gears) or if anyone know what degree the cams should be set at!? i did a few research and it seems the postings have been couple years back and had no info on the degrees... i am doing supertech springs/retainers arp head studs by the way also..... it had rough idle and it killed the engine after it got warm!? probly not safe to drive home so i left it at the shop.. wondering i might bend valves if i drove it!! anybody please help!!

Wrong forum, this is the Evo X section not the Evo VIII - Evo IX section. If you were going to bend a valve it would have happened the first time you turned the engine over to start it (or it would have locked down during cranking if the starter were not strong enough). Welcome to big cams, it's never going to idle like stock and yes cam gear will allow you to get the most out of the cams. Car needs to be re tuned for the cams.

thnks guys... so the map is for evox!? i guess it is fine now... just really rough idle and it kills the motor right after i rev it the needle drops too fast..... maybe it needs reflashed/tune either running lean or rich... you guys know if it needs to be set at what centerline or not!? my installer said every cam is different so he set it at centerline for both intake n exhaust like how he took out the stocks since he didnt know the specs on the degree... i just hope it works..
