Nice test. Results that follow what science predicts... go figure

I'll add that while max power might not be greatly affected, the transient response WILL be; spool-up and on/off throttle response will be much better with cooler air.

Nice test, not surprising results, but no one had proved such a theory yet either.

I want moar pics of that Yellow Evo 4/Mirage that had the FMIC in the grille!

a little off topic, but the two pop fasteners or whatever that hold the intake snorkel in is that something I could piece out at autozone? I tried going to the mitsu dealer to get them and they obviously don't have them and I don't feel like ordering it.

If you have the undertray off and laying around, you can use a couple fasteners from it.

why not incorporate the snorkel into a cold air box?

This is what i did with my Altezza (toyota rs200 - 3sge)

Looks good man...I'm surprised you got that to fit like that with the ACD pump/res, etc...I didn't realize the Evo 8 bumper had that black cover/panel in front of the ACD pump...The IX bumper doesn't have that...I would much rather have that...Looks like it would make it funnel air better into the vac tube...
