AEM Boost Solenoid clicking *Vid inside*

Well I've been hearing an odd clicking sound the past few days and finally got the time to try and locate it. Turned out to be coming from my 5 month old AEM boost solenoid. It seems to be doing this intermittently. In the video the engine is off and the key is in the on position. So my question is, is the solenoid bad? And do you think I should contact AEM for a replacement or is there something I can to do try and fix this thing? Thanks in advance guys.

That just sounds like the solenoid working. Depending how your boost control map is setup you can adjust the table so the solenoid isn't trying to operate in those load cells. I believe it is mentioned on the aem forums on the advanced boost control thread. That's how I learned what mine was and how to adjust the table so it wouldn't do it any longer.

I went and double checked my map since I havent looked at it in several months.

click
boost control
the first option should say boost control click that again
The table should be the duty cycle for the solenoid. Everything in vacuum across my entire rpm is 0.00 depending how your boost control was setup this could be 0 or 100. You don't need the solenoid operation when its in vacuum or anything under your wg spring for that matter but to be safe I just have it off in vacuum and operating during boost. If you didn't tune your own car I wouldn't recommend fooling around with the boost control settings.

I didn't setup the solenoid myself but I'll check it out tomorrow. Seems odd to me that my tuner would have set the solenoid to being operating while in vacuum though.

Also, this still doesn't explain why it would do this intermittently...unless it always has been operating, then all sudden got louder...which would lead me to believe that there is a problem.

I don't wanna put you through the trouble of doing this, but it would be greatly appreciated. Would you set your duty cycle to 100 during vacuum and see if your solenoid does the same thing? That would really help me out man.

Mine clicked at anything over 0. That's the duty cycle table telling the sol to operate. A lot of people will set that table to 50 across the board and forget to clear the vacuum portions. It might not be the problem bit it only takes a second to verify. My sol doesn't click at idle.
