My question is why you need to be cruising between 80 and 100. It is not needed and a waste of fuel.

I've used a mishimoto SINGLE CORE radiator and drove from Sioux Falls SD to Omaha Ne(190 miles) we did about 140-160 the entire way down and i didn't over heat.

I have a koyo rad setup from ams.

I've driven the car for 2-3 hours at a time no problem. In fact, I was stuck in traffic last week bumper to bumper for 15 miles clutching in and out for at least an hour with no overheating issues.

It was about 70 degrees out.

Technically you should see some mileage gains running hotter on the freeway.

Truckers buy shields to cover half of their massive radiators since they aren't towing and don't need all the cooling. The warmer engine vastly improves efficiency and nets truckers a noticeable change in mileage.

With the right T-stat and smaller radiator, assuming you aren't causing damage you should see another mpg or two from the heat. You might also want to consider a product like Redlines WaterWetter to bump the efficiency of the half sized unit.
