So I have been driving around with all 3 ACD lights on for about a year now.
Since the car handled fine with them on I was in no hurry to fix this.
About 3 weeks ago,my car started to make this horrible whine whenever I start the car and drive off.The whine also seems to get louder if it's hot outside?
Same when I turn on the ignition and hold down the gas pedal(like you were trying to bleed the acd),the whine starts and lasts about 30 sec.
As soon as the whining stops my 3 ACD lights come on.
It kinda sounds like the pump is running dry and after checking the ACD reservoir yesterday after I went for a drive, the fluid level was still at max.
After checking the rear diff itself I could also tell that it had been leaking a bit,but it's hard to see from where it leaks because with the hot weather it's all dried up.
One thing I also want to mention is that sometimes the whine doesn't start immediatly but after several miles of driving,I even had 2 or 3 times when it didn't happen at all and all 3 ACD didn't come on.
Could it be that one of the lines coming from and going to the pump might be clogged?Would changing the ACD fluid help?
I the pump was really shot,I would have this problem every time no?
