Tomei 270 procam timing
Hi all ive not posted much on the forum as i live in the UK but fort i would ask a different group of people for some advice on something.
Anyway the story is i have a 2.4 4g64 motor nealry finished that ive build myself thats going into my evo 5, The cams my tuner recommended was the tomei 270 procams with the 11.5mm lift as i am using standard head, intake and TB.
I have found the true TDC on the engine which is only just off the factory mark but the instructions that come with the cams are a little vague about how and where to set the cams to maximum lift???
I found a thread on the forum about the 260 procams and how people got best resilts with both cams set at 0-0
Does anyone have any input on how to go about setting the cams for maximum lift??
Thanks
Craig

I wish that I could help. I am interested in this particular cam set as well. From what I can gauge the Tomei 270's are not in use by many on this forum. So, this would explain the lack of response to your query.
The Tomei's, the JUN's, the Piper's, and the newer VDZ's etc. are popular in Britain. Here in the US, people are mostly purchasing and installing Kelford, GSC's, HKS, and to a lesser extent, Crower, Cossies, and Buschur Racing 272's.

Thanks for the responces guys been doing a bit more digging around and still seem to be finding that that the 0-0 combo is working best for most people.
Just gotta tweek them a little bit on the adjustable pulleys as i have today found true TDC and they are both a little off so i will get them both on TDC by the markers on the rocker cover and go from there.
Great forum you guys have here by the way ive been looking through all sorts on here over the last few days and there are some excellent cars and very abled people on the forum.
Thanks
Craig
