GTX 3076R (0.63 or 0.82) On Build 2.0L

Guys ...
I'm planning to buy the new GTX 3076R on my build 2.0L ...
Old setup is using gt3076r with 0.63 & making around 430whp/54kg ...
Just don't know to buy the GTX with 0.63 or 0.82 ....
I'm scared the 0.82 will make the car laggier ...
What do you guys think ?

0.63 is a good size and the one I want. I have .82 and I do have too much lag I think that 0.82 is a size for cars that can do more than 500whp

By any chance you have the .63 ATP housing from your old turbo?? I need a good one to reduce my lag. I also can give you my .82 so you can prove your new turbo with the .63 and if you don´t get the performance you want , you can try it with the .82 housing that I´m giving you.

let me know anything

The housing depends on how you plan to use the car, and what your power goal is. I usually recommend the .82 in (90% of the time) simply because spool doesnt change that much, but overall power potential can be noticeably different.

Give me some more information, and I can help you.

Shipping to Malaysia for a housing swap wouldnt be worthwhile.

I wanted 400whp on my Evo VI, when I bought this turbo never thought that the lag was too much, my turbo starts to spool at 3500rpm and is full boost at 5000rpm. at this moment I want to buy a tubular manifold to reduce the lag, but I wanted a .63 housing to reduce more it. Anyway I'm going to try the tubular manifold and better tuning.

My principal mods are:
kelfords 272 with hks valve springs.
walbro fuel pump
720cc injectors
Evo 8 ECU(tephra V7 rom)
2,5" all intercooler pipes
3" all exhaust
injen turbo intake
big intercooler
HKS EVC 4 with trigger
AEM wideband
openport 2.0

Hi ScorpionT
I just want more power without increasing lag ...
I already have a build 2.0L motor & are running 1.8 bar using old gt3076r ...
Wanna use the same boost but hopefully can get more power ...

If you are using the ATP bolt on housing, that is half the problem. Switching to a standard Garrett or Tial housing and a tubular manifold will make quite a difference.

You wont see a reduction in lag unless you go with the GTX3071R. That will quicken spool and you could run similar boost while making similar power to your GT3076R.

or you could go twin scroll.
Twin Scroll 0.82 T3 with a GTX 3076 would work well.
Going from HKS 3037 0.82 A/R non divided T3 to Twinscroll 0.82 T3 on a SR22 made it spool about 700rpm quicker, with a loss of about 30hp at the very top range.
22psi @ 3500rpm on a 6sec run on dynapack now.

Hi RSMike ...
Where can i get the twin scroll t3 manifold ?
All i can find is the t4 twin scroll manifold ....
As for gtx3071 .... won't it make less power than my old setup ?

maybe, maybe not.
Please remember that setups make power, not turbo's.
My tuner makes 550whp on a HKS 3037 turbo...

We custom make everything here in New Zealand. Manifolds cost about $800-$1000NZD (650-800USD).

If you got a Twinscroll GTX3076, it would make more power (or the potential to) and spool faster

You could make the same power pretty easily. If you went with a TS T3 manifold, I wouldnt recommend anything but the 1.06 housing.

I saw a full test of a GTX3076R on STi forums and they recommended the .82ar on this turbo. Makes around the same power of a GTX3582 with a .63ar.

Could you tell a little more about that, please.

Has anyone tried a GTX3076 A/R .63 on a 2.3 or 2.4 built engine?

I'm interested in knowing what the spool range is and how quick the power comes on.
