Kelford 272s are always great. There are also the new HKS cam grinds 274/278 for the 8 and also GSC S2 if you can find them in stock.

My buddy runs the HKS turbo, GSC S2's, 1450's, speed density, e85, and puts down 450/430 (torque kept low so that the stock block holds together)

Kelford 272s or GSC S2s are the forum favorites for most setups. Larger displacement motors (2.3/2.4) are going to want something more aggressive.

What about the GSC S3 cams? Everyone raves about the S2's, but I am curious about the S3's myself.

Which of these two GSC cam grinds would work better with a fully ported cylinder head? What else is needed besides retainers and springs to be able to run the S3's?

I thought a built motor was necessary to run the S3's because they have such a high lift that would put the valves into the top of the piston.

Why would a built motor change the piston clearance?

Piston being designed for the valves to travel further into the combustion chamber, Wiseco calls them valve pockets

Thats what I thought you meant . But then I was thinking I really only see those on an all motor setup.

The S3 also have a much longer duration as well. It's not just the lift that would factor into cam selection, but also the type of motor and how high you plan on revving it as well. With a turbo like the HKS, you would want a cam to take advantage of the quicker spooling capabilities like a 272 or equivalent. A 280 camshaft would work better for a higher revving or big turbo motor that would carry the powerband in the upper RPM range.

+1... What are your intentions for this car? I see in your signature that you have the "Fastest EVO Drag car in Europe" soooooo is this a drag car? Or a DD that you also drag? Do you do Auto-X? I need some more information.

The S2's are a great cam, along with the Kelfords. Honestly I would not pair them with a turbo like the HKS, that is aimed towards quick spool and fast response.
