That'll last for about the first 50 miles that you drive with that amount of power. Welcome to the club my friend! I had the EXACT same mentality when I first bought my Evo. 300 awhp felt great, for about 2 days...

You should forward this info to ACT. From what I've read about them, they have a full QA department that actually takes failure info like this to help improve their product. They might have even seen this before and help you understand what happened. If there are any serial numbers on the parts they may be able to track it back to a production lot and see if there were other similar failures from that lot. Depending on how you approach them, maybe you can work a deal on a replacement?
It's a shame that you've had this much trouble with the Evo already but hopefully you'll get some great driving experiences with it soon.

It held strong for months and I always had fun heel-toeing and/or rev-matching through gears like that in my old 95 TSi AWD. Hell that was even when I was delivering pizza so I put on a lot of miles too. No idea how much power my TSI made, but it had a 16g and supporting mods. Actually that was on an ACT 2600. I'm not sure what brand I'm going with as a replacement. I'll see what ACT says when I get a chance to call then I'll decide between another ACT or switch to Exedy. I'll make sure to share what they tell me.
BTW in about 15 minutes there is going to be a 2 bed hot tub room available at The All American Inn in Norwalk for the shootout.

Unknown814x4, sorry to hear about your misfortunes. I would let ACT know of this incident and see what can be done, good thing the damage was contained and didn't find its way to other more expensive components. Please keep us informed about ACT's decision or statement regarding your clutch.

ACT went way out of their way to make this right and gave me nothing, but lightning fast responses the whole time.
I did not expect such personal customer service from such a big company and it was a pleasant surprise.
They definitely kept a customer when I was really close to switching to another brand.

I can't see the original damage pics anymore, but I've done a few good ones myself When the wedge collar pops off from my experience, it's just done, she won't want to go in and out of gear and the fork will be all the way toward the engine.
Good to hear you got it sorted out then? What did you end up going with?

Fixed the broken links. Sorry about that, it kills threads when you can't see what the hell everyone is talking about.
It ended up not being the wedge collar. The rivets on the clutch disc failed. ACT gave me a really good deal replacing the clutch disc and rebuilding the PP though.

wow! ok yea now I see what happened...ouch! Great that they worked with you though! I had one of the fidanza clutches that ended up failing in 8000 miles and they told me to get bent. I've always heard good things about ACT's customer service though
