high pitch squeek/squealing noise over 20mph?
just picked up an 04 evo and its making this faint squeeling noise above 20mph. the noise does not change pitch or get louder if i increase the rpms (downshift to 3rd at 60mph and go back to 5th at same speed) and it doesnt change if i push the clutch in so i dont think its the transfer case. i cant hear it with the windows up, only with them down. does anyone have an idea as to whats making the noise? im hoping that its a wheel bearing or a brake pad thats stuck or wore uneven. PLEASE HELP!

did you find out what was causing this?
Did you find out what was causing the squeeling noise in your evo?
I have an outlander sport that just started the same type of nosie. above 20mph it almost sounds like a belt slipping, but stays constant at all rpms, and at various speeds above 20mph.
let me know,
thank you,
joe.
