Not about difficulty, it's about cost?!

I was only refering to the words in your post where you stated that the Green, "must use specific oil". Sorry.

FP only "recommends" you use high zinc and phosphorus oils, and that list is not huge.

And this guy apparently didn't get the point of the post, I wasn't saying needing the $350 install kit for the upgraded oil line was hard to install!?!!? I was saying it was crazy expensive comparably.

I've seen a lot of good numbers with the FP HTA Green and it looks like it spools well. It is slightly more expensive than the BBK, but it flows a tad more. No need to hate on the FP turbo Jonesey, its ok, they can both be good.

Oh yea

Def not hating on the fp turbos or calling them bad, I was SOOOOOOOOOOOO torn between them when I bought mine. I am, however, trying to show why IMHO the bbk is a much better choice. Even if ONLY the finances were the reason.

Incorrect.

Lite - compressor upgrade

Full- same compressor and also a turbine upgrade

BBKB -different compressor, modified full turbine wheel?

Positive about the lite and full. May be wrong about the B, even though I have one. Hahah

I vote for a Full for you

Stand corrected. All hail the mighty Boltz..... def! knows his shiat.

However, just quoting site..... says upgraded bearings and needed oil line for those bearings, and comes ported. That's it

"The BBK-B will be a direct replacement on an EVO 9. However, you'll need to purchase an install kit if you're installing it on an EVO 8. This purchase also comes ported and includes a new oil feed line as well as a bearing upgrade to support high boost pressures."

This is also what Chad told me this week when ordered.

EVERYTHING ASIDE........ I still also vote BBK-full.

Oil line is about preventing starvation on launches and keeping the turbo happy. The old Green and 64mm Red never had oil lines and many of them are still running happily. The oil line requirement came about because there have been failures that were do to the type of usage. Drag racing, road racing, etc. and then the customers wanting a warranty for what boils down to abuse. The same thing can happen to a BBK too. It might be added cost but its also added insurance.

Could have sworn Chad quoted me 51lb in email too, although I could be wrong but I was PRETTY sure. I deleted all my emails when I got my turbo today though so I have nothing to back.

Ok, I only wanted to put in my two cents......... which I did. I surely didn't mean to seem argumentative. Hell, I'm just excited because I actually GOT my bbk-full delivered today lol. I'm PROOOOOOOOOOOOOBABLY a little biased because of that fact.

i was going to post my graph of the bbk but someone beat me to it lol. i have really impressive graphs from the green also though.. like 480whp on stock cams on a evo 9 if you dig for results in dyno section. its all about the supporting mods really. 9's already have decent size cams.

I think all the turbos are good.. id make your decision based on;

HKS 7460GT2
BBK FULL
FP GREEN HTA

(in no particular order)

i think that's it.. neither of these turbos require special oil.. fp green hta is normal thrust bearing design unlike the red and black with the hybrid design. you still should run decent oil tho if you like your engine and turbo.
