that's really smart to make more of an "in-between" clutch setup. It seems like most of the twin discs out right now are way to harsh to be daily driven especially if you sit in traffic. Hopefully this fills the void

Didn't mean to derail. I was afraid after 20+ miles on my clutch I would have to completely rebuild.....for the money I was looking at other choices. Came across this and was looking for info while my friend was using the Carbonetics doc to determine what needed to be replaced.

I have been running the 6leg version 1 QM, and I daily drive about 50miles each way in LA traffic. The only thing I never really liked about the version 1 was all the decel noise. Out side of that I cannot even tell it is a twin plate race clutch. It drives very well. So this new version should just kick so much ***.

Longevity is something time will have to tell. How much mileage on average while driving the car normally. Some launching.....maybe an autocross or 2...and of course daily driving.

I called qm and they rate it at a comservative 600lb/ft at the crank. He also said many people are past that with no issues.

I never really understood the craze of these street twin discs. My single disc ACT is rated at 500ftlbs and I have zero shifting problems even up to 8k. :shrugs: Maybe it is the lack of funds that will never allow me to purchase a twin disc, but is it really worth it? Even stock turbo guys are running twin discs.

well your obviously not shifting fast enough.. lol the act are very prone to locking out at 7k in drag racing ..

i personally could shift at 7k and then it would lock me out like clockwork at 7200.
with out fail. it would catch synchros everytime i tried shifting it fast.

now i have a exedy twin and can bang gears without a problem .. they sound like poo but shift perfectly

What is the torque rating difference between the street and track?

Also, how much of a difference in a daily driver sense?
