Manley I Beam rods; Normal vs Lightweight

I'm looking to purchase come strong I beams for my new build, i will be stepping up the power i'm producing. Aiming for about 600whp.

Manley rods:
The H beams i'm currently using are 580grams.
The I beam lightweights are listed at 630 grams.
the I beam "normal" rods are listed at 670 grams.

Carrillo MI-4G6T-65906H are 566grams.
MAP Ultimate performance rods are 630grams.

I'm very tempted to get the Carrillo's!

Does anyone have any ideas that can help me choose?
I dont want my H beam Manley rods to be the weakest part of my engine, so time for a change!

Whats the power handling differences between the Manley I beam "normal" and "Lightweight" rods?

Cheers, Mike

I bought the Manley h-beam plus rods- perfect for that 'in-between' power level. Well built and relatively light with strong studs.

no i hadn't... very good suggestion.
I'll be getting prices for everything i guess

Does the rod weight have a large effect on bearing life and engine wear compared to a heavy piston?

just curious, and don't want to stray from your post, but what do the stock components weigh?

Regular h-beams will take you to 600awhp no issue.

The normal and lightweight I-beams can hold about the same power.

Piston weight will affect your bearings more, but a lighter rod never hurt.

u should add some of the material and geometary properties to ur data, yield strength, tensile....etc it should help u making the decision a little easier.
cheers!

This is what I use. No issues at all here.
