Car bellowing smoke, cooolant on top of pistons, running out of ideas..
OK New Build on a diff car ..
car runs good no miss just SMOKES BAD
car smokes like a train.... pull spark plugs can see liquid on top of pistons...
did a compression test all cyl... 150
thinking the NEW COMETIC head gasket had a flaw we tear the head off... nothing visually wrong
so we noticed when we pulled the turbo off that 2 exhaust ports on the head were coated in fluid (coolant) as well as the turbo and the exhaust is spitting it out when running..
no visual issue w/ HG so we put a new HG on and now we still have the same issue...
could the head be cracked? is there something stupid?
intercooler piping is dry
intake is a little nasty but not horrible
how do we determine where the leak is?
thanks in advance

You can do a leakdown test and see if something is leaking, if that doesnt show where its leaking from there could be a crack in the head.
My guess would be the head gasket just isnt sealing off the coolant jackets good enough though

stock head stock cams ... only the 2 cyl next to the cam gears (1&2?) had coolant in the exhaust ports..
and we thought HG too so se put a all new Cometic HG on and torqued down to 100 ft lbs
wouldnt think the head would need torqed down any more?
i dont see how the head could magically crack just sitting on the bench for a week?
its gotta be something stupid

block deck was checked when motor was rebuilt... check to be ok
but with stock pistons and rods and a cometic hg ran fine and no smoke 30 miles later spun main bearing.
got a new crank and bc 156mm i beam rods, manley 2.0lr pistons and new cometic hg.. now it runs fine and smokes....
