If you get springs, you must also get retainers. I'd reccomend Ferrea over hks.

A bad guess would say your running 415-430 off the wheels, and i beleive 264/264's are the best but dont quote me, search, there were a couple threads on that.

Re: Tuned EVO VIII

1 JIC MANIFOLD (Adds to HP, make sure equal length)
2 XEDE (Adds to HP if tuned properly)
3 TURBO-BACK EXHAUST (Adds to HP min 3")
4 INTAKE (Adds to engine freedom but only if you have good intercooler)
5 HKS IC PIPES (Adds to max boost level)
6 HKS CAMS (Adds to HP if tuned properly)
7 HKS CAMSHAFTS 264\264 (Think duration will be mismatched for your turbo.. try 260/264.. Remember, your turbo may not be able to provide enough air)
8 OIL CATCH CAN (Adds nothing to killing an M3)
9 HKS FUEL CUT DEFENDER (Hmmm... not necessary i think as Xede should have a FC control, maybe wrong)
10 AMS INTERCOOLER (Adds to power and knock control)
11 INJECTORS 650 (not necessary if not changing turbine..stock is 550? if you want, go for the 1000 injectors)
12 FUEL RAIL (not necessary if not changing turbine)
13 FUEL PUMP (not necessary if injectors not 800+ e.g Tomei or Bosch GTR pump)
14 HKS BOV (Go for the plumbback version, e.g. tomei or forge, less hassle)
15 TEIN SS FLEX COILOVER - 1100$ (necessary? I think stock are good enough.. unless u have too much $$$)

Somethings you may want to consider:

1) Oil Cooler for your turbo
2) Ralliart Plug cables
3) Thermostat
4) Turbine Outlet
5) Uprated grooved brake rotors
6) Uprated high temperature brake pads
7) Uprated water radiator
8) Turbosmart E-boost (highly recommended, read the website http://www.turbosmart.com.au)
9) HKS Twin Power Ignition System

350ish+ to the wheels, do a fuel pump and xflash as well!

Cams, Xede, exhaust, and larger intercooler??? That's got to be closer to 400hp to the wheels. I'd say 2 of the 4 and you'll manhandled M3 and many other cars.

Neither.

Real men have a lumpy idle.

Here's my editorial take on it

1 JIC MANIFOLD (Adds to HP, make sure equal length) - I would not bother.....more bling than ourright power.

2. exhaust - by no means do you NEEDa 3 inch, esp. with stock turbo. Won't hurt to have it though, especially if you plan on a turbo upgrade in the future. Stock turbo will do just fine with a 2.75 inch downpipe setup though

HKS 264/264 -great combo for the stock turbo if idle is a concern for you. 264/272 gives a much more pronounced pull up top though, and would be my own personal choice for a street car. 272/272 runs like a raped ape, though idle qualities are not to everyone's liking (though it largely depends on what computer you run and more importantly, who tunes it).

Injectors - not needed without upgrading the turbo, thougha fuel pump would be necessary IMHO

fuel rail - definately not needed at all...even with an upgraded turbo.

I did, blew by hard on fourth, we hit 140mph then he slowed down. Only mods on my car is B&B turbo back, Tein S springs and Volk LE37 eighteens. E46 M3 BTW.

oh as for valvespirngs, not needed with the 264's.

Someone mentioned here they had HKS springs on their car? We tried installing them.....fully collapsed when we tried it, so went with the Ferrea setup instead. I ahve heard others have the same issue. How did you manage to get yours to fit?
