shifter bushing

In reference to my other thread (https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-out-load.html) I noticed my OEM large bushing wasn't installed. I figure no big deal, easy. The large bushing decided to stay on the transmission side. I pulled, tugged and got all the rubber off. I put the new bushing in, noticed it didn't work. Well FML, the OEM brass piece decided to basically weld itself inside the knob. I tried heat, wedging, PB Blasting, and no luck so far. Is there anyway to get this brass thing out? Thanks.

You could try a die grinder or dremel with grinding attachment. If its not welded in there too bad you could also try to chisel it out.

Thanks FINALLY got it. God I love my rotozip. Basically drilled 4 small holes horizontally and took a screwdriver bending it. Eventually it came out. Thanks again.

Make sure you put plenty of fully synthetic or lithium grease on the new bushings to prevent this happening again.

Ouch, good point, I didn't even think about that. Thanks, I'll do that tomorrow.
