Sounds suspicious... someone wants to steal a car?

So the AEM EMS becomes the perfect theft device..... pop the door key hole, rip out stock ECU and plug in EMS...hotwire and drive away

It is not correct to say if you replace the ECU the car runs fine - in fact the car does not run at all unless an ECU with the immobiliser code is installed. Most aftermarket ECUs for Evos such as the Haltech, Autronic and GEMS do not provide for the new immobiliser function.

We are trying to install a GEMS ECU in a car being converted for rallying and are looking for the easiest way to address this issue whilst retaining the standard ignition key.
