What is bearing nip??

Was just on the phone to a tuning company getting some bits sorted for getting my Evo mapped.

He mentioned something about bearing nip what exactly is this??

I done a quick google search and it said it was the amount of force pushing the 2 bearings together from the rod and the rod cap.....is this something any of you have worried about as I would of figured that do long as the bearing has the correct clearance for oil and the rod bolts are torqued correctly that's all there is so worry about or have I overlooked something very important??

Thanks

Craig

Also forgot to say would the bearing nip be more of an issue with lower end of the market rods, I have Oliver extreme rods and would say they are up the top when you consider Oliver as a brand name
