Evo 8/9 twin disc clutch questions.

Hey guys.
I am in the market for a affordable twin disc clutch that will handle what ever i trow at it and not break my wallet to much. I have been researching on the CC twin disc type C that will handle up to 750 ft pounds of tq. I dont want to get the exedy twin since it only rated to 500 tq.
Can someone leed me in the right direction
thanks

Im planning on picking this one up, heard some good stuff bout it Quartermaster twin v-drive. and it converts it to a push instead of a pull type. Is like $1500 compared to exedys push which is like $3k. look into it http://www.maperformance.com/quarter...wheel-evo.html

Honestly if you spend a little more and get an exedy which will run you about $2400 it will probably be the last clutch you will ever buy. It's good for 850 ftT

I am not spending more then 1500. I got a guy that has dealer accounts with CC and some other clutch makers.

I have a cc twin, not sure if it's the type c (its a bit older) but it's very difficult to drive. From what I've gathered the exedy is much better for a daily (not sure what your intents are)

If I did it again, I wouldn't buy a QM twin. It might be fine as a drag racing clutch but it's not great as a DD.

Maybe it will be different with the gear-drive hub disks that I have in mine now. I do like how they "feel" better than the hardened-hub disks.

I got 12K out of the first set of disks, and a lot of that was cross country freeway time where there's no wear.

The second set of disks I had the short hub machined down slightly, .050" to try and get more life out of it and this happened.

Edit: I don't know if I mentioned it, but, the transmission that input shaft came out of was a shep rebuild so I'd have to believe the splines were in really good shape before the QM clutch disks beating them up.

I wouldn't reccoment the ACT clutch as it locks out the gears at high rpms, I have it now and I'm looking to buy an Exedy twin clutch which can Handel the power and not mess up my synchros. I have seen tons In the market but I would love to hear from someone who has been through a couple clutches and would have some advice on a Stock Evo.

I vote for Exedy HD twin ceramic/metallic for a daily driver. It's the Bees Knees for my car (stroker, high TQ/smallish turbo on high boost).

If all you have is 1500 then your choice is already made for you, which is Comp Twin. I have had two Comp Twins in my car and only changed them out b/c my driving needs changed (moved back to the city). The Comp twin is awesome when it comes to racing, but it a pain if you deal with a lot of stop and go traffic and the dreaded hill.

I run the OS Giken Twin now in my car, its much better for daily driving but it can't shift as fast as the CC twin.

I have a CC twin and its really not the quietest or most friendly but has not had a slip or hiccup yet... definitely a drag clutch sadly
