input shaft seal?

The area where my axle goes into my tranny is leaking. Do i need a input shaft seal to fix that?

i have had it go both ways the first was the seal that goes into the t case went bad and started leaking fixed that and in the process of installing the new trans something either fell off the shelf or i dropped something on the end of the cv axel shaft and hurt the fitting that sits in the seal so i would recomend that its prob just the seal and is a couple hour fix if it fights with u
and u can get the seal for cheap on extremepsi.com here is the link to said
