Redline 10w30 oil review

I have used most of the major brands of oil in my Evo. Honestly I would buy which ever brand was in stock and cheapest. I have used Mobil One, Castrol, Valvoline, and Pennzoil, full synthetics in 10w30 weight. I read about the high zinc content of High Mileage Mobil One 10w40, so I gave it a try. I got bad lifter tick. Hated it. All the other brands also had lifter tick but only when the motor was cold. The High Mileage Mobil One ticked cold or hot. I most recently switched to Redline 10w30 and guess what? No lifter tick. None even when the motor is cold. So far I love it. So based on elimination of lifter tick, I would highly Redline motor oil.

It could be that you are on to something but it could be that it is just a coincidence. It is possible that a particle was stuck in one of the engine's lifters and it came free. But, I suppose, if someone is having this problem too, it is worth a try. You need oil anyway.
