So i had one of the first FP blacks on my last evo. Non ported. I just bought last FP Black that they had left in the stock "Ported this time." I drove it around the block n it legit sounds like a jet / whistle even before it hits boost. Almost like a diesel truck turbo noise

it happens from -5 vac and get louder as you hit boost! I went to at shop n thought it was a boost leak.. got that tested. no boost leaks, then we took of the j-pipe still makes the sound.. turbo has no play on did this whistle since mile one..

did they change something later in the FP Blacks?

only difference in cars..

first FP Black had a MAP n a FP Intake

Mine now is on Speed Density with a 4" intake. idk if the would cause a wistle my only guess taking off the intake it still did it also.. n the sound is coming from the turbo inlet side

I'm more surprised your first one didn't whistle.. lol Mine is loud unless car is idling, speed density also.

Its the ported cover. My 20g whistles like a **** even in vacuum. Had to get used to it at first.
