haha ok, ok, I'll take a little something out of there but I'm not spending the time that some of you nuts do with separating unused wiring from the harness lol

I think checking the injectors every 500 miles new or used would definietly be beneficial.

That just sounds like a huge PITA and you might not even catch the problem early enough. There has to be a better way.

As stated in this thread some people have huge buildup after 20 miles!

The real problem still needs to be found.

I changed my injector connectors to quick connects. Thats one step in the right direction. I don't have E85, just planned for the future.

Does this happen to only High-z Injectors or also low-z also? I just checked my low z 1450 injectors after about 2k miles and they look ok to me.

That's a good idea, I also did the same. Not because of this specific issue, but because it was just easier to use the quick disconnects.

This is good advice to periodically run a tankful of gasoline through it every once in a while. I would toss a gallon of Xylene(aka, Xylol) into that tankful of gasoline as well. Xylene is the active solvent in most commercial injector cleaning additives such as "Techron" and etc.

You guys complaining about inspecting the injectors on a regular basis need to find a new hobby. Engines making upwards of 7hp/ci are going to to require frequent inspections/maintenance, PERIOD.

This is what I would love to hear/see more data on myself. I see a lot of on here and other places where folks have "converted" the cars over, but one would imagine that this should also be a big problem for the OEMs...and if its not, then what's different.

Good point. Also there should be a separate thread on this.

I've never owned a flex fuel vehicle
