Lesco.

Originally I had planned on having them only machine the block for oil squirters, but they insisted that they do the entire shortblock machining and assembly or nothing at all. So it's taking a LOT longer than I had planned, and costing a LOT more than I had planned . . .

there is a guy who builds bad a** SRT-4 and i'm sure some of you have heard of him,b/c he is outrunning all the EVO's.

he will make Ti rods to whatever size and spec you order for i think $2800 and they would probably be superior to some of the Ti rods mentioned here before.

Darrell *** is his name and he runs 7's in an SRT-4 putting down 1800whp.

Darrell *** Racing

i almost ordered a set for my 2.4LR build, but decided last minute that 2lbs off the rods wasn't worth $2000 and the extra time it would take to have them made for the 4G63.

i would like to see some studies or dynos of the benefits of lighter rods.i really dont see how you could experience much difference at all going from say 690 to 650,but 690 to 400 would certainly be less stress.

however with a billet crank, would the big weight savings actually help your rotating assembly stay together longer?would it spin faster, make more power?

Darrell has Crower make them as far as I know.

Reciprocating weight is exponential vs rpm so what you take out always adds up, especially at high rpm.

the website claims that they will design and build any Ti rods you need.

but that doesn't mean it's 100% truth.

i agree that what you take out adds up,but to what degree.i wonder if there are any number, charts or proof to actually look at anywhere.

and i imagine for auto-x racing lighter is almost always better, but couldn't you get too light for drag racing in certain areas, say crank or flywheel, etc?
