^ nice numbers. i decided i will check compression again soon. maybe just do it myself. i won't worry too much about leakdown since i have no problems with the car. they said they wouldn't have even done a leakdown since the compression was ok.

IMO the test was done wrong and/or the gauge is wrong, but I'm sure the engine is fine.

I agree it is hard to tell if the guage is accurate. If they didnt unplug the crank sensor you could have the injectors washing out the cylinders as well lowering the numbers. Another thing to consider is that the leakdown test is hard to do properly with the tbelt on since it tries to move the crank and cams around and sealing the head is tough. I would use another gauge and do another test. My compression on my stock 03 was 180-185 on all 4 at 100k miles. I have since added HKS 272 cams. I will do another test and see how the cams affected cranking compression. My gauge seems to read accurate but TSCompusa thinks it reads high. what is important is consistency between cylinders.

I have done compression tests on a lot of engines and have never opened the throttle. In the end I really dont think it matters as long as all the cylinders are turned over the same amount to get an even comparison. I will try an open and closed throttle on my car to see if there is a difference though.

what do you make of these results?
I haven't had a leak down test completed on my car, but my numbers were 130-135 the last time I tested compression on my IX with GSC S2's, so yours seem relatively low unless you have even bigger cams, or a gauge that reads considerably lower than mine does.
