Anti lag and launch control for a evo 9

Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me on telling me what is a good boost level to set anti-lag launch control for a evo? I have a 2.3 stroker and FP black turbo and running the Link G4 ecu. I was searching the forums but couldn't really find anything so I thought I'd start a new thread. I was think 0.5-0.7 would be ideal and a little conservative, what are you views on this?

.5 bar or psi? And what will the car be used for? Drag racing, rally, or do you just want the loud backfires in between shifts and launch?

You forgot insanely quick acceleration.

0.5bar, and the car will be used for racing on the track and occasionally drag racing...

I think anti lag launch control is great as it makes your launches a lot more consistent and you won't bog down !!! Tested mine at 0.5bar and 6000rpm and is great!!!

Isn't anti lag hard on the turbo, with all the explosions spinning the turbine?

No, the launches are hard on the clutch, transmission and transfer case tho, which is why it must be done right

0.5-0.7 sounds pretty ideal to me, a little conservative but I'm guessing this isn't a dedicated track car so you don't want to subject it to too much torture. Give it a try and let us know. The link ecu is pretty easy to manage so you should be able to fine tune it no problem.

Generally yes. There are multiple variations of anti lag systems and I only how the basic one works. Essentially it creates a combustion in the exhaust manifold or in the hotside of the turbo to keep the turbine wheel going fast enough to keep the boost up. The combustion is a lot more violent than what the turbine wheel is usually subjected to. So it is hard on the turbo, but if you're ok with that then why not? Instant boost when you get back on the gas would be great for the track.

The anti lag launch control AFAIK generally just uses the exhaust to keep the boost up and is no harder on the turbo than regular driving. My 2 step build about 6 psi at 4k on exhaust only. Hard on the drivetrain though.

I have the ultimate ratio shep trans gearbox, upgraded t-case with wavetrac LSD and a push style triple plate Carbonetics clutch and I only use the launch controls if I am racing and need the off the line advantage.... It's not setup top aggressive so it should last a long time !!!
