Nope. One of the reasons I am doing a new motor this year, remove the last of the old engine program. I had the last JE motor we did with custom JE LR2.4 pistons and the 0.250 wall wrist pins. The Wisecos have worked better for us since that motor went together in April 2009, so I needed to step it up. Also went from H beam to I beam rods this year as well. JE are full circle and will get noisier with age as the skirt deforms, the 1400 HD has less friction and being a strutted piston cant deform and get noisy.

The wealth of info you share is amazing Aaron! I love it, always willing to help and give advice even the few times we've pm'd back and forth.

im wondering if this is the sound ive now heard the past 4 months. im runnin weisco pistons and have almost 23k on my setup. the sound started soon after switching my cam and valvetrain setup. once the cold weather came the sound is annoying. cold start i can hear it at idle then once warmed up i can only realy hear it if accelerating from 1500-2500 rpm. i thought it was a lifter but put all new ones in to no avail, also cut open oil filters and found no metal. i wonder if the piston has changed shape like you talk about.
i built my block 5 years ago and dont remember what tolerances i used.

I called Wiseco and talked to tech support, they recommended .005" as well for 700+ and to keep piston slap at bay, these pistons are designed a little different as others to keep them from losing shape.
I think you meant .0055..... Not sure on the manleys, I would call and talk to tech support to be certain.

Great turbo the 374, after very good results with a s400/71 i'm waiting from Geoff@full-race the new s400/76, really confident in great results for both power and powerband....
