Is my Profec B defective?

i had profec B on my supra before, not my favorite type, but still one of the best EBC in the market.
the only thing i donot like is that the vaccum hose will go into the car and plug in to the unit,
the longer hoses, the less accurate reading you get.
anyway, what i'll do is to check the all hoses first then worry about the unit.
