Hks blow off valve question

hey i was wondering how many ppl have an HKS ssqv and are running it open atmosphere? can you also please let me know if you have any problems with it or no you really need the idle stablizer or recirculating kit? thanks and i appreciate all your advice.

most people recirculate when running a maf(which i am at this momenet)...i would suggest running speed density then you wont have to worry about recirculating anything and i also would dump that BOV and get a tial..thats what Im doing

Ive ran the hks a Long time ago. first vta wich you would have to blip the gas when comming to a stop to keep the motor from turning off. then i recirculated it and it was a bit better but overall i personally would not recommend that bov for an evo . good luck

Dumping to the atmosphere isn't the best idea based on the fact that the ECU is already compensating for the air that should be there by adding more fuel. I know you asked the people with it venting to atmosphere but I have it recirced with a cone filter intake and it is way loud if that is what you are looking for. No issues with it recirced and it is almost as loud being recirc's, just without the high pitched squeel.

I've been running an hks ssqv non recirculating on my evo 8 for about 2 years now with no problems.

I'm running an hks vta and its not too bad daily driving with it, in between shifts it'll run rich and sputter everyonce and awhile but you get used to it
