Propeller shaft problem...

Hi,
is there a way to identify a bad propeller shaft? What is the common problem on the longshaft?

I heard klonking noise below center part of my car whenever i throttle and off throttle at the same time.

Can a coupling be replace and do anyone here got any pic to share?

Thanks

I don't think anyone knows what you're talking about.....

I think you mean the driveshaft? What does it look like or connect to? We need more info...

Here is the coupling pictures on the propeller shaft for my Evo 5

How to repair the pic 1? As pic 2 & 3 coupling can be replace right?

Pic 1 is hving klonking sound whenever i lift off the throttle while doing 20km/hr / Cruising.

Pic number 3 is the output shaft yoke.

Most of us I seen on here live in the US and USDM evos (8-9 anyway) didn't come with AYC, only ACD. But what's wrong with the coupling? If it hitting the bottom of the car floor then the carrier bearing is prob worn out and making the coupler where it's the thickest.

The bottom part where the shaft goes through in the bottom of pic 1 should be there hanger/carrier bearing. Push up on the coupling and see where it is moving

1) Can the pic 1 hanger/carrier bearing be replace or re-grease?

Thanks

usually you would feel a bad vibration through out the car , id look at rear diff hanger and moustache bar bushings also check exhaust isnt hitting prop or downpipe isnt hitting underbrace , if fitted .

Thanks Guys as ive also changed some mounting near to the rear diff and dont know whether is that the cause?

The vibration usually is caused by a to soft or too hard mounting?

Rare for anything to go wrong with the shaft - maybe the occasional carrier bearing. It is a good thing because, as I remember, the shaft comes as a unit from Mitsu.
