Question looking for 400whp and high reving daily?....

Wondering if I should stay 2.0 and just rebuilt it or stroke to 2.3l?

I want to rev as high as possible and still make a lot of power. Im shooting for about mid to upper 400whp off the bat but the ultimate goal is around 800whp (way down the line) I want the build to be able to handle that power from the start, top quality parts and always need room for more power.

Whats a better decision, rebuilding the bottom end of the motor i have or dropping the money to have a completely rebuilt and assembled block by ams or buschar..

If i had 16k id buy AMS 2.3l motor that thing is sex!!!- back on topic now

what about turbo?

keeping A/c and power steering is a must!

The car is going to start off as my daily until i get it to a point that its not a DD anymore. then i will focus on making it as light weight as possible and squeezing all the extra HP out of it.

oh ya....
e85 is out of the question.
its 93 around here.
car will have meth injection.
and eventually a fuel cell for race gas.

Long Rod 2.0/HeadGames Ported cylinder head with Ferrea Valve train/GSC s2's/DBB FP black/BBK-C/MAP EF4 will put you exactly where you want to be on pump gas between 400-450whp on a real dyno. Probably would only need a set of FIC 1100 or ID1000's and a modded walbro or other high flow drop in pump.

You really need some supporting mods too, if you don't already have stuff like a boost controller, wideband, o2 housing/turbo back. You're going to need all that type of stuff. It'd help if you gave us what you have done to your car already.

C'mon, the OP stated that his goal is the upper 400whp range on pump/93 and meth. Now, since you stated a 93/meth tune with a goal of <400whp >500whp, you can run any turbo such as the EF3 or FP Red regardless if it is in a 2.0L or 2.3L.

That "rev as high as possible" statement is pretty subjective and I will not touch that as every turbo will fall off at redline and you should instead focus on having the largest powerband possible because it makes no sense to just "rev" for the sake of "revving".

I am totally thrown off by your ultimate goal of 800whp as that will put your car into a different category altogether and you will have to run at least a T3 setup and larger cams (i.e. GSC S3s).

I am not knocking your goals whatsoever as I enjoy reading about the success of EVO owners. You have to be realistic and practical at the same time and build with the end in mind. Do you have any supporting modifications at this time?

High Revving and stroker don't go in the same sentence.

Personally, I didn't get a stroker in my Galant for the reason that rebuild costs are so much more expensive than if I built my stock 2.0.

While I agree, high revs and strokers don't usually get along, what is more expensive to rebuild in a stroker VS. a standard engine?

All of these a really great ideas for your goals. But for 400whp on 93 you can still reach that goal on the 2.0 stock block. Your main focus should be on a quality head (for the high revs) and maybe even a GT3576r for a turbo (along with fuel upgrades of coarse) and a solid tune. Best of luck with whichever route you go!
