Except for when the guy in front of you hits the burnout box at a track with crappy prep work. I've been to a couple where you literally had to line up as far over to one side or the other, or you'd be hearing "ping, ping, ping" of rocks and debris being flung at the front of the car while the guy was lighting 'em up in front of you.

 

luckily we have signs up behind our burnout boxs so debris doesnt get thrown on the cars in the staging lanes
