ETS UICP Question

I'm going to be purchasing an ETS intercooler kit with their upper piping soon. Most sites I see only sell it with the TiAL blow off valve flange when you're getting the short route option. Any idea why? I don't want to get the short route because I don't want to run a mini battery. Wanted to get rid of my Forge re-circ blow off and go with the TiAL QR but looks like I'm going to end up keeping the Forge.

Why don't you order from the ETS website?

Just checked it out, you can get the stock route piping with the Tial flange for an additional $35.

Here's the link.

No problem, but if you do wind up getting it from somewhere else, you can always just contact them ask if you can get the Tial flange added.

If not, you can always buy this (see below link) and get a local trustworthy welding shop to put it on for you.

One more question... Anyone have experience with it fitting with the HKS intake pipe and filter?

Bump... Still waiting on someone to chime in about the above question.

Another question, any ideas on how an ETS 3.5 core will fit behind my HKS Kansai front bumper? The space looks the same as a stock VIII bumper, if not a little bigger. Hope it fills the space neat!

I have a 3.5 inch hks core fitted to my kansai bumper. I had to remove the netting on the ic opening and trim to fit. Several fittings of trial and error, I used Scotch brite discs on a die grinder to remove the fiberglass smoothly. Looks good but no room for a grill. And that is what kansai told me to do, no real other options. At least with my hks core it fills the entire opening perfectly, looks great imo.

I'll PM you my e-mail thanks.

Hopefully the ETS fits with minor modification like it does with the stock VIII bumper.

Looks awesome! Here's the picture from 4whlbst:

I'm going to try and find more details about the HKS intercooler in terms of length etc to see if the ETS one willl fit the same, I think the ETS will fill the space a little more.

Generally it fits the whole opening but thats on the stock IX bumper so I'm not sure how much different this aftermarket bumper is. ETS has a "widetank" option on their site when purchasing the intercooler. You can check into that.

Well if your looking to get an uicp, do it right and get the one that gives you a benefit, go short route. Now one cheaper and better imo alternative to a mini battery, they suck I ran one. Relocate your battery to the trunk, itll last longer and with a relocation kit with battery your out under 400 total. As far as the ets 3.5 ic, most of em fit without modification, although some had to had some of the bumper trimmed, I see your an 8, mine fit without any modification. But go short route that 2 ft of shortened piping will make a difference, especially when you start adding power mods. Good luck, any questions feel free to pm me.

Thanks all. For now I will just buy the core until I decide exactly what I'm going to do in terms of piping etc.

I heard the mini batteries suck in cold climates. It's usually hot all year around here. Not sure if that makes a difference..
