I always run vta with no issue. Routed to intake would be nice if catch cans caught all the oil, but none of them do. I dont like oil all over my turbo, intercooler and intake manifold.

you can run a properly built catch can to filter the oil/vapors and still recirculate-

and depends on how much blow by your motor has--

I tried "properly built" cans, still oily residue in the intake.

Fwiw I have ran a lot of different turbos. Had a few different failures here and there, some I know we're my fault some no explanation for. No matter what they always had a reason for it no to be their fault or the turbos fault. All I can say is get use to turbos being a wear item and don't expect warranty no matter who makes it. If you do get warranty be very thankful!

If i ever go back to stock frame turbo It'd be a BBK offering. That way I can run oil I like for my motor and not for the turbo so it doesn't void my warranty. I do understand that no one else is running the size of stock frame turbo FP is and in states where aftermarket equipment is scrutinized its a risk worth taking.

Can you elaborate on the mechanics of how a nice vta STM style catch can set up could cause a Turbo failure?

Not that I doubt that you can get a crank case system to properly strip out the vapors, but personally I'd rather not take the chance of loading up my intercooler with oil. I've always ran VTA catch cans and never had a problem with killing turbochargers, or any other negatives (besides smell) from doing so.

In reality though, the majority of the junk that comes out of a catch can is simply condensation from the air that is circulating in and out of the engine crank case. It is not from fuel vapors and it would not collect in the motor normally since the motor gets warm enough to prevent the condensation.

Use a Fram G3 fuel filter in between the catch can and the intake.

If you are worried about oil in you piping, run a line off the can to your downpipe with a moroso exhaust check valve. It comes with a weld in bung and all you have to do is weld an AN bung to the valve. I put these on evos, surpas and gtrs all the time with no issues?

I've used them before. The valves gums up pretty easily and a friend actually had one catch on fire.

If you use a catch can in line with them, it helps, but they tend to smoke still.
