Running on 3 cylinders on evo 8 :((
Hi guys looking for some help my evo 8 is runnin on 3 cylinders to start with the problem was intermitant now its constant, took it to mitsubishi but nothing showed up in the diagnostics :wallbang: no management light on :wallbang:. have since looked into it abit more myself and cylinder 4 appears to be wet . So far i have checked the resistance in the injectors all 2.5 ohms, a cylinder compression test all round about 170psi, a coil pack resistance test all readings to specification, new spark plugs, new spark leads, 2nd hand fuel pressure regulator, fuel pressure solenoid resistance test all to specification and the injector resisor resistance test all readings to specification.:cry:
please any ideas or problems like this you have heard of all info would be brilliant :smthumbup:smthumbup:smthumbup

did you swap coils/wires around to see if it moves to a different cylinder? try that. if it doest change swap the injectors around and see if it moves to a different cylinder. it almost has to be a coil or injector.

just had them out myself mate and checked that way, its not to say thats the way the sparks supposed to be though because its the same on all of them.when it was doin it intermittantly i put in redex injector cleaner and about a day half a day later it was running 3 constantly?

That stuff you put in the tank does more harm then good in the long run. But it seems like it's from an injector.
My car did this awhile ago, ignition was fine and turned out to be the resistor box, it's the silver box on the firewall.
