By the symptoms he explained, my bets on that the nuclear zirconium nitrite plated chromium flux core diode is bad.

You're all wrong, I'd bet a paycheck it's the muffler bearing.

Send me your unused unopened engine oil, I will measure it's equality and see if it's seeming racist or not.

Punch in 9th gear /thread

Jk, 2 paychecks on muffler bearings

Yikes, Funny. Mean, but funny posts.

Its most likely your clutch, which you have figured out by now. Its the classic behavior of a clutch starting to go. High rpm, high power, in high gear ratio (top gears).

Your bolt missing thing is something you have to deal with either way. You can't have a bolt broken or missing at the point in the system where the pressure is greatest. Not taking care of it, could make whatever the repair is more later. read more SHHHT will break. However if there was a leak there you would hear it on boost driving around a parking lot even in 1st. Air pressure escaping is really noisy.

Do the clutch test, which will give you some mechanical learn ya know how. A little science of that is good to understand.
parking brake
high gear, 5th
slowly release the clutch
If the engine doesn't stall right away your clutch is slipping.

There are a bunch of threads on the details. the first googled

i think you can do it in 4th gear too. ive seen that more times then not. but ya same thing. easiest thing to check for a bad clutch... put the parking brake on, slowly release the clutch...if your car doesnt stall your clutch is gone

clutch... same problem i had

you can have the car stationary put it in 5th gear if the car dies you may be able to get the glaze off if the car moves new clutch time...

If you want to fix the glaze you need to drive the car smooth, no slippage or barely any and if lets say you are at 60mph in 5th at 2500/3k rpm do not floor it. shift down and get in the power band. If you can hold yourself back for 2 weeks of this driving you may be ok.

Ok, to add a little something to this.

When in 3rd or 4th, if say I am doing a logging pull (starting at 2500 rpm WOT) when it gets to about 3500-4000 rpms. The rpms drop about 500 rpms (eyeballing not exact) then the pull continues normally. Now if I am rowing through the gears shifting at high rpm this does not happen.

I have parked the car, pulled the e-brake, put the car in 5th, held the rpms @ 2k and slowly let the clutch out. Car dies immediately.

Is this the line for Clutch group-buy? Or do I need to upgrade to Vtec first?
