Ya im with ya and agree my tuner runs a 67 at like 40+ psi and he also makes stupid 900+ hp lol. Running 30 psi to me sounded like holdin 30 psi. If im spiking 32 psi I dont say im running 32 psi I never had any luck with that much boost on pump myself..... at least couldn't get very aggressive with timing.

You might have read too fast or something... but when did I say the 6766 is better than a 6266 at 30 psi??
I was comparing the 6466 and 6766 at 30+ psi. Also note, that I said "The 6766 will only be a better choice of you are going all out at 30+psi"
Going all out means you got somewhat of a built motor pushing it to its limits. On good built motor the 6766 will outperform the 6466 as well as the 6266! And you don't need to be pushing over 40 psi for the 6766 to shine at that point.

why in the world would you use such a big turbo to run low boost? a 6266 will have a much better curve then a 6766 at 30psi. thats my point. there is no point to run a big turbo at low boost. yes 30psi being low boost. i did not read to fast. i just feel a 6766 only seeing 30psi is a dumb choice when there is clearly better options. dont expect a 6266 to hold up to anything the 6766 can do at 40psi though. which brings me back to saying where the 6766 will shine.

Im with evodan I don't understand ur point. All these turbos are gonna be efficient at 30+ psi range, but the 6766 is gonna shine at high 30s and 40s. At 30 psi u are gonna be more in the efficiency range of a 62 than a 67? In my research While tuning certain turbos and setups u will find the efficiency range of the setup when the power stops going up exponentially to the boost.

You are getting way ahead of yourself. I don't know who you are arguing against but it sounds like you are putting words in my mouth. Read my post again, CAREFULLY. And tell me when did I ever say to run a 6766 on 30psi.
I don't care about your point about the 6266 having a better curve than a 6766 at 30psi because that was never the subject we are debating. You just magically came up with that to make it look like you know what you are talking about.
Now here is my post again just in case you get ahead of yourself again.

Sound Performance tested the EFR too...it wasn't that great. Spool was slightly better than the 6266 but it lacked the power the 6266 could deliver. And for the price difference, the 6266 is a MUCH better deal than the EFR.

And I didn't compare the 6766 to the 6266 for your information. I was comparing it to the EFR turbo.

i still disagree. at 40+psi i would agree with you. 30/34/36psi is babies play for these turbo's. its pointless to use the 6766 if your only going to run under 40psi. HTA86 6266 type turbos will net better curves. at over 40psi then the 6766 will make the difference. even over the 6466.

am i ahead of my self? im sorry i can not follow your super smart analogy.

here is my theory.

if your looking for an awesome street car with a great curve under 800hp then the 6262, 6266, HTA86 is the turbo to have. 28 to 35psi these turbos seem to shine the most. yes you can run 40 but your basically pushing it to hard.
if your looking for a power house type setup and could care less about low/mid power and want to run 40+psi the 6766 will do the job much nicer. its where it belongs.
the new 6466 is geared for the guy who wants that 6266 type spoolup but gain more topend. we do not know to much about this turbo yet so we need to wait to see results. but if your gonna max out both 6466 and 6766 the 6766 will trump the 6466 all day. BUT you lose that low/mid grunt.

when you say the 6766 will be a better choice over 30 psi is wrong. again the 6266, HTA86 ''and soon the 6466'' are all able to control 30+ meaning most commonly used boost levels in the 30's range just as good as the 6766 but with a hell of a better curve. i see no point to use the 6766 UNDER 40psi and most people at that stage are ringing the turbo out. sigh which again is where the 6766 belongs.

In the first two lines, your comparing the 6466 and 6766. Your saying at 30+ psi the 6766 is a better choice. 30+ means great than or equal to. So it means, 30, 31, 32, 32, etc... DAN is trying to explain to you that this is wrong. I'd say the 6766 wont make more power until 43+ psi, meaning 43 or greater than 43 psi.

Forged pistons do not make a difference in power unless compression is changed. They just allow you to run more power through them.

You said at 30+ psi all out. This would sound to 99% of people that your referring to someone running 30 psi or greater than means all out. You DID say that running a 6766 at 30 psi would be better.

You said word for word: The 6766 will only be a better choice of you are going all out at 30+psi.

Can you get a couple pictures of the compressor? Im curious what was apparently changed about the design to get the extra performance from it (if the SP dyno charts were not "padded").
