Bigger Turbo with stock block

Hey everyone, I am planning to do a turbo upgrade but don't know which one I can run safely with stock block

I have an Evo 8 with an Evo 9 Turbo
3'' exhaust

Purchased but not installed yet:
GSC S2 Cams
HKS Cam Gears
HKS Timing Belt
GSC Beehive Springs/Retainers
ARP Headstuds
Walbro Fuel Pump

I was going to get a Forge Wastegate for my Evo 9 turbo but if I can run a larger turbo without building my block, I will get it

If I need to get bigger injectors with the turbo, it won't be a problem. The only handicap for me is that I am in Istanbul, Turkey and the current highest octane we have here is about 92 octane. My only shot would be an AEM Methanol Kit

Basically with what I have and what I will get installed, let's say I get injectors and meth kit, what is that highest hp I should expect and what would be the largest turbo I can run

Just limit your torque to 400wtq and you will be fine on stock block. Injectors are a must on a bigger turbo, I would also avoid meth injection

Skip the meth kit and run the 92 octane.

Look into larger stock frame housing turbos and look to keep the power around 400awhp/400tq and the block should be fine. Countless people are at the 400 power level with the stock block and no issues.

the latest and greatest will run you anywhere from $1700-2500 depending on your power goals

Check out Forced Performance, CBRD Speed Factory and MAP performance

If you don't run meth or e85 yes you would need a bigger turbo for 400whp. Also you can go over 500whp on stock block no problem, torque is what vents blocks

let's say I get the grimspeed 3 port boost control solenoid, and limit the torque to 400, which turbo should I go with for a 450-500whp setup?

With a IX turbo you could easily achieve 400hp with the mods u listed, some e85, and a decent tuner. FP black is way over kill for 450-500 imo but would help keep the torque down at lower rpms. I plan on making 500-550 on a stock block and the torque somewhere between 400-450 with a precision 6262 at least till the end of the summer when I pull the motor.

Just curious so I'm going to chime in here..... What would you need to build up on your stock block to take torque, say between 450 ~ 520 or so? I thought I was going to go with a FP Green but I've changed over to a Tomei Arms M7960. I'm looking to make max 500 hp, maybe a smidgin more. Seriously though I would like to to know what I would have to do to protect the engine.

FWIW I had an FP Red on my RS, made 502/468 on VD at 30psi (E85). Windowed the block after a few months. My friend has a Holset (not sure on the size but its fairly big) he makes about 580whp and is still on the stock block.

What torque? I was thinking about going a red or green and then building the stock block after this summer. My tuner said " I'd feel better about a PT 6262 at 530hp than a Red at 470hp" I'm sure because the red is gonna spool sooner and have a bigger tq spike which is what kills stock internals.

Hta3582r here best turbo for the stock block in my opinon, full boost right before 5k what the stock block loves and you can make alot of power on straight pump with room to grow if you decide to build in the future. I also make very close to 500whp and its my daily driver.
