Exhaust gaskets that don't suck?

Anyone know of any exhaust gaskets I can buy that don't melt onto the flange or crumble, etc?

I know they make high temp ones like Vibrant etc, is there anything else I can use that will last longer than a year? All of the muffler shops etc, use straight up junk and I am not sure if it's just me, but I rather pay 10 bucks for one that doesn't suck rather than pay 4 dollars for crappy ones...

Which gaskets are you referring to? Is it for the O2 housing/DP junction?

No just the normal 2 bolt 3" gaskets between the cat and the exhaust. I keep burning through them.

I make my own using the high temp gasket sheet that you can buy at autozone. Mine haven't came apart yet (2 years so far). I think the sheet is around $9.

From my experience, even the cheapest gaskets work well. When an exhaust gasket goes bad, it is mostly due to poor, uneven flanges or loosely torqued bolts which cause leaks at the flange. The amount of pressure coming through the leak will cause any quality gasket go bad over time.

Mainly due to bent flanges, due to over tightening...

Hmmm I always torque to spec, but they always just melt onto the flange and when I try and pry it off it just comes apart in pieces. I ordered the Vibrant ones, so we'll see how those work out.

This is what i use, 2 years on them so far, The old ones i had to replace everytime i took my exhaust apart i think mostly due to the heat my car produces at track days.

Holy crap that 12 layer looks promising. If I use them on all three sections though, I can only assume it will push the muffler back about 1/2" . That should be okay. Thanks guys!
