I need help! (transmission-transfer case)
So i was finishing up installing my act clutch into my evo 9 mr, i got everything bolted up all i had to do was torque down my transfer case and this happened.....
What can i do?? Is there a shop where i can send my transfer case and tranny to get the housings changed? Or can i exchange it somewhere for a 5 speed tranny? What should i do help!!

Wow man, for it to crack like that you would think something must not have been lined up right?
Regardless, that will have to be welded on both sides and machined down, or completely replaced. I'm sorry for you, this looks like a real pita........

I know im so bummed out!! Cant i just replace the housing pieces from each that are cracked? If i did decide to get them welded would it hold up good for years? Especially under high hp?

damn that sucks. Well you're best bet would be to find a used TC with blown internals. Buy that, send them both to Shep (or other trans place) and have him build one with some stage upgrades if you plan on pushing high power to it, or do the refresh build. I never replace, if I have to rip something out the car, it's getting upgraded. Good luck.
For future reference, when I did this, they bolt on hand tight until it hits the metal, then apply torque. You shouldn't ever have to use force to get a bolt in, I learned that awhile ago too Looks like it wasn't seated in right and you wrenched it.
