Ignition Boot Problem. Please Help.

Ok, So I decided to replace my spark plugs and as I pulled out one of the boots the metal piece (no clue what its called) inside the boot, that goes to the top of the plug...ripped out, and I cant get it to go back in. Do I need a new boot? Am I able to drive (at least a short distance) with one plug not working? And if I need a new plug is there anywhere that will get one shipped to me before Monday? Or any stores that carry them? Any advise? I dont know what to do because I have places to go Monday, and need my car.

I've had this happen before and was able to repair the plug wire. Whether this is possible or not on the Evo would depend on how the plug wire is made. If you haven't been able to do it - probably not possible.

The best thing to do is order from the dealer and have it shipped overnight. If in stock, you should have new wiring Tuesday or Wednesday. Looks like you will be borrowing or renting a car.

Same thing happenend to me. I ordered a new set of wires. Only to find out later that all I had to do was pull the boot cover back over the wire, instead of trying to put the wire back into the boot.

Actually, just hold the spark plug end and pull the wire back.
