I suggest puting s2 or s3 for cams and e85 you can make over 440whp on stock turbo depends on tuner.
I just had my head built with ferrera valaves and springs and retainers, I am looking to make around 500whp but not much on the stock block for torque maybe like 400 tops.

Its like saying I didn't go over the speed limit because I only went 10 over for a small period of time.

If you hit 30psi how are you not running it? I guess I could understand if it was only during a small spike but if you are hitting and holding for any decent amount of time I would say you are running it.

Yes u are running it, but it just gives u a quick torque spike and doesn't hold at all as soon as u start to rev the motor the boost and power drops to what u are "running" for 85% of the curve... I just think its funny how people say I'm running 30 psi when in all actuality they are just spiking 30 and running 24 for most of the pull. Mine spikes to 32 psi quite often but I don't say its running 32 just my 2 cents not worth much.
I will concede that I find that the peak power I used to make was at the end of my rpm range with lets say 24psi. Although I was spiking and holding 30psi during the peak torque area of the curve. The runs that I made with the extra boost through the mid range bumped up the entire curve.
My power band is only for a few thousand rpm. Should it also be said that I have x whp because I have it for a small period? I guess that is my train of thought. Its good to discuss things.

when mellon first started tuning my car i was hitting 29 psi and holding it pretty damn well on an evo 8 turbo with a 10.5 housing.
im now on 26 psi and it holds to redline with barely any taper.
i know i know its apples to oranges but a 9 turbo should be able to do that and more with the bigger cold side... but im not saying go do it without first being tuned for it. during the tuning process we got 12 counts of knock in a few logs at that psi.

It really depends on the set-up. For a lot of set-ups, 30 psi is probably out of the efficiency range of a stock 8/9 turbo on pump gas, but you can get away with 30-32 on E85. Depending on the set up, running too much boost could actually be hurting your power band and it also may not be good for your turbo or your motor.
Personally, I peak around 28psi and taper to about 23psi @ 7K. I do my own tuning though and I spent an extensive amount of time tuning the boost to make sure it's not only making the most power, but it's also safe. I tend to get knock if I try to hold much more boost than I already am and it doesn't really give me any increase in power so that's why I've got it set where it's at.
